Code of Practice on Transparency of AI Generated Content - WG1 Workshop

On 26 March 2026, Digihumanism participated in Working Group 1 workshop which explored technical considerations for implementing the revised marking and detection measures under section 1 of the Code. The discussion focused on the feasibility of multi-layered and multi-modal marking, the role of metadata, public and secure watermarks, possible alternatives to watermarking, and detection mechanisms across different content modalities. Participants stressed the need for robust, interoperable and technologically feasible solutions, while balancing transparency objectives with legal scope, SME compliance burdens and innovation considerations.

The discussion was based on the second draft of the Code of Practice on Transparency of AI Generated Content, available here.

Summary minutes of the workshop are available here.
