Digihumanism participated in the meeting of the Working Group on Disclosure of Deepfakes and Certain AI-Generated Text for Deployers (WG2), held on 17 March 2026. The discussion focused on section 2 of the second draft of the Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content, available here.
The objective of the meeting was for the chairs and vice-chairs to present the revised section, respond to questions from stakeholders, and provide an opportunity for stakeholders to share feedback. The discussion centred around disclosure obligations for deepfakes and certain AI-generated text for deployers of generative AI systems. In particular, it focused on origin disclosure, user-facing labels, proportionality, technical feasibility, governance measures, editorial control and the development of a uniform EU label. Participants broadly welcomed the increased flexibility of the second draft, while raising divergent views on the appropriate level of detail and prescriptiveness. Industry stakeholders highlighted concerns around compliance burden, innovation, safe harbours and label fatigue, while civil society and academic participants emphasised the need for clear, accessible and timely disclosures, stronger governance mechanisms and consistency across platforms and regulatory frameworks.
Summary minutes of the meeting are available here.
