FRA - European Commission: Horizontal effect of the Charter in the digital arena - 4th Annual Online EU CharterXchange 2026

Digihumanism is looking forward to participating in a panel discussion on “the horizontal effect of the Charter in the digital arena” in the framework of the 4th annual EU CharterXChange: Pooling knowledge to implement fundamental rights, a shared initiative of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and teh European Commission.

This panel discussion will reflect upon the horizontal effect of the Charter provisions in the application of the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Digital Services Act (DSA) and the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA), whenever the respect of the EU Charter must be ensured.

The CharterXchange aims at increasing the exchange of knowledge and experience and fostering collaboration among experts, policymakers, and stakeholders through an annual forum. The objective is to contribute to a better and more frequent application of the EU Charter for Fundamental Rights (EU Charter), in line with the European Commission’s 'Strategy to strengthen the application of the Charter of Fundamental Rights in the EU’ (2020), and the subsequent Council conclusions on strengthening the application of the EU Charter in the EU (2021).
